First Grade students learned about the Lion, the Chelmsford school mascot. We talked about the importance of PRIDE (Perseverance, Respect, Integrity, Dedication, and Empathy) and then students wrote about how they could show PRIDE and what it meant to them. We first started by drawing our own lions and then added details with sharpie. After, we colored in the faces and glued on string to make a pattern. They did an amazing job!
After the first graders finished this project, some went home to make their own lions! They did such a great job that I had to hang them up around my room!
