This week in art, Second Graders learned how to draw three-dimensional pumpkins from a still life. We talked about the curved lines on our pumpkins and learned how to create light and shadow as well. Next, we observed Vincent Van Gogh's Starry Night painting. We examined the swirls around the clouds and the stars and learned that Van Gogh used short brush strokes to make the sky look like it was moving. Here are some beautiful pictures below!
